Presentation of the study "Violence and disability in girls and women, a latent reality"

Presentation of the study "Violence and disability in girls and women, a latent reality"

On December 4, and thanks to the call from Educo Bolivia, the Machaqa Amawta Foundation, UN Women Bolivia and the Delegation of the European Union in Bolivia, we presented the study “Violence and disability in girls and women, a latent reality”.

This study, carried out between the months of May and September 2024, had as its main objective to collect information, analyze and make visible the situation of violence faced by girls and women with disabilities in 92 rural municipalities in the 9 departments of the country.
The results of this study reveal a reality of high vulnerability and social disadvantage faced by girls and women with disabilities in Bolivia, allowing us to propose actions and strategies to respond to this problem at the level of public policy, but also from organized society and social organizations.

We thank all the people, organizations and entities that made this study possible, as well as those who participated in its development and presentation. This should be just the beginning of a collective effort to build a more inclusive future, free of violence and with greater opportunities for girls and women with disabilities in our country.
